• High Card: The lowest poker hand that does not include any of the subsequent combinations. The strength of a High Card hand is determined by the highest card present, so a High Card hand can only beat another High Card hand with a lower highest card. For example, A-Q-10-8-3 beats K-Q-9-7-5.
• One Pair: A hand that includes two cards of the same rank. For example, K-J-J-9-5-4 (a pair of jacks) or Q-10-7-7-2 (a pair of sevens). One Pair beats High Card and is beaten by all other hands.
• Straight: A hand where cards form a consecutive sequence of ranks. For example, A-K-Q-J-10 or 10-9-8-7-6. Aces can be used as the lowest cards to form a straight. For example, 5-4-3-2-A is a straight, which has 5 as its highest card. Straight beats One Pair and High Card hands.
• Flush: A hand where all cards are of the same suit. Flush beats Straight, One Pair and High Card hands.
• Three of a Kind: A hand that consists three cards of the same rank. For Example, K-K-K-10-5.
• Full House: A hand that consists of a Three of a Kind plus One Pair. For example, Q-Q-10-10-10. Full House is only possible at poker games played with 5 or more cards.
• Four of a Kind: A hand that has four cards of the same rank. For example, J-J-J-J-8.
• Straight Flush: A combination of a Straight and a Flush, where all cards form a consecutive sequence and belong to the same suit. For example, 10-9-8-7-6 (all of Spades).
• Royal Flush: The highest poker hand. Royal Flush is a Straight Flush that starts with an Ace. The only possible Royal Flush is A-K-Q-J-10 (all cards of the same suit).
