The building of the Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel in Salamanca started on Friday. A team of retired Seneca ironworkers placed the first pieces of steel to for the casino hotel complex in a ceremony that took place on Friday.
The eleven story casino hotel complex estimated cost is around 140 million dollars. The casino will contain more than 40 table games area and more than 2,100 slot machines, plus an eight story parking lot will cost around 118 million dollars. The Seneca Allegany hotel will contain 220 rooms, an Italian restaurant, a steakhouse and a cafe. Seneca plans to add a large event hall to the casino complex. In addition, a new entertainment complex is planned to be build in the temporary casino area when the new casino opens.
The new casino hotel will employ around 450 employees in addition to the 850 who are now working at Seneca Allegany Casino. The hotel will be the tallest in Salamanca. The 26 story Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel is now the tallest building in Niagara County and the tallest hotel in the Buffalo Niagara district.
