Amateur Poker Limited had announced the launch of a new amateur poker organization. The Amateur Poker Association and Tour is a supported by the online poker site PokerStars.com and poker magazine PokerPlayer.
The APAT is the first poker organization to combine poker association and tour. The APAT launch will be marked in a live poker tournament, English Amateur Poker Championship, which will take place at the Broadway casino in Birmingham, UK on September 23 and 24.
Members of the new poker amateur poker organizations would be able to play in several major poker events and play low admission fees, thanks to PokerStars.com support. The first season of the APAT will consist of seven national and international poker tournaments, which will lead to the European and World Amateur Poker Championships.
The champion of each of the APAT tournaments would win a seat at the European Poker Tour or World Series of Poker Main Events including travel and accommodation expenses. In addition, each APAT champion would go home with a cash prize and an engraved Championship Cup.
