Online poker guide and directory PokerListing had contributed a sum of 30,000 dollars to global non-profit organizations. The 30,000 dollars donation planned to be a first step in a plan to raise funds to global organizations. In the meantime 10,000 dollars were donated to each organization including UNICEF, MSF, and Save the Children.
Jenny Safstrom, the community and public relations coordinator at PokerListings said the company had decided to form a charity device, which its purpose is to raise money and awareness to global issues in the online poker world. PokerListings first donation will contribute three international aid organizations focus on improving children poverty in underprivileged areas.
UNICEF is one of the leading aid organizations in the world. It main focus is to help children around the world who have to face poverty, violence, disease, and discrimination. UNICEF currently emphasizes on the issues of young girls education and the battle the threat of HIV amongst young children.
