Student Won 1.3 Million Dollars

A 22-year old student came 1st in the 3rd PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas.

A 22 years old student from Ontario won more than 1.3 million dollars in the Third Annual PokerStars Caribbean Adventure that took place last Tuesday at the Atlantis Casino Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The poker tournament was operated by the poker website PokerStars. 700 poker players participated in the tournament, which the admission fee was 8,000 dollars.

Ambrose, a business and science student from the University of Waterloo, got in the after winning a series of poker contests online. According to Ambrose brother, he only had 2 years experience in playing online poker and hardly ever played live poker. After playing penny poker with his uncles during Christmas, he felt confident about his poker playing skill and decided to participate in the tournament. Due to his earlier winning in the poker site contests, he had to pay only 102 dollars as admission fee.

Besides the 1,363,100 dollars prize, Ambrose also got a 25,000 dollars seat in the World Poker Tours championship tournament, which will take place in Las Vegas in April.
