Problem Solvers checked and have realized that the number of pre teens considered having a gambling problem is two times bigger than that of the rest of the nation. Even though it is illegal for anyone under the age of eighteen to gamble, it is not halting these youngsters.
A local Channel6 news reel displayed a couple of ten year olds playing poker somewhere in Central Florida. One of the reasons that they are playing, experts suggest, is that because one can see poker on TV, they have begun to watch celebrites and others and feel a need to imitate.
The Compulsive Gambling Council in Florida warns that gambling at such an early age is a bad sign for social and cultural stability. They point at a connection between when a person began gambling to developing a gambling problem.
What worries the Council is that a study they sponsored found that 7/10 teens have gambled sometime or the other. And whats more, that 1/10 place bets every week. The fact that online poker sites and casinos are easily entered and kids find them simulating and cool.
