This is one of the most popular poker games where five cards are dealt to each poker player.
In this variation, each online poker player can replace 3 of his cards
with 3 fresh ones. After the switching round, there's another betting
round and then the hands are shown, and the strongest hand wins this
online session.
Different 5-Card Poker Variations:
Connect Four:
4 cards and the lowest card in the hand are wildcards.
In case the lowest card is a 4 - then it's the only wildcard. Aces are
always considered as high when checking for wildcards.
Spit in the Ocean:
4 cards are dealt to each poker player and one
card is put in the middle of the poker table. While the dealer is dealing
cards, a player can shout "spit", and then the dealer must throw the
card he's currently dealing onto the middle of the table. The cards in
the middle of the poker table are communal. Only 7 players can play this type of poker.
Jacks or Back:
Similar to Jackpots, if any poker player can open
Jacks. In case of no opener, the hand is played low and each of the
players can open, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.
If still no one opens, the round ends and a new one starts with an
opening Jacks or higher again.
Progression:
Like Jackpots players need pair of jacks or high to
open and triplet to win this poker game.
Hands are dealt until a
player has a triplet and wins. In case a player folds, he will
not be dealt for the rest of the game.
Kings and Low-Men:
This means that kings and the lowest cards
in your hand are wildcards.
No Vaseline:
Similar to Kings and low-men, only that the opener
must win the round, or else he alone must pay the poker pot's
worth to the winner. This poker variation ends when the player
who opened wins the round.
5 Draw Low-Ball:
Lowest hand wins the poker pot.
5 Draw High-Low:
Poker Players declare if they play high or
low before the last betting round. The pot is split between the
highest hand and the lowest hand players.
Money-Back:
High-Low poker game, betting is by pot-limit, are
the switching round there's a betting round, player flip their
cards one a time and do a betting round after every flip, high-low
declaring is done after the last betting round. Straights and
flushes aren't allowed when playing Low, so that an Ace-2-3-4-5
combination is the best low hand.
Jackpots (Jacks-or-better):
A betting round must start with a poker player that has a pair of Jacks or
better. In cases which no player can open, the hand is over and a new round
starts; only now the players need Queens or better to open the round.
If there's no opener they'll need Kings and then aces, and then back to Jacks.
The opener must show his opening cards before the round ends. If so happens that
the opening player chooses to trade-in one of his opening cards in the
switching round, he must show his opening cards then.
Phlegm in the Snatch:
Similar to Phlegm poker, only that the
wildcard is put faced down in the middle of the table after each
of the poker players has 4 cards. Like in Snatch games there's a
betting round prior to the flipping of the wildcards, only now every
flip of the hands card is followed by another poker betting around.
Phlegm:
Similar to the poker variation, "Spin in the ocean",
only that a betting round is done after each flip of a card from the hands.
In the Snatch:
Similar to Spit in the ocean, only that the
wildcard is put faced down in the middle of the poker table after
each of the players has 4 cards. A betting round is then done, and
flipping the wildcard ensures another betting round.
